Policies & Procedures
(Updated August 2026)
Student Conduct Code
Anthem Academy of Music is dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment. All students are expected to respect teachers, classmates, and the studio space. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior may lead to removal from the class or studio.
Tuition & Payments
Anthem Academy of Music utilizes a flat-rate tuition system designed to provide consistent monthly payments throughout the academic year. Tuition is calculated based on the total number of lessons offered during the academic year and is divided into equal monthly payments. As a result, monthly tuition remains the same regardless of the number of lessons that occur in a particular month.
Tuition reserves a student's recurring lesson or class time and is not based on attendance. Enrollment at Anthem Academy of Music is continuous until a withdrawal request is submitted in accordance with the withdrawal policy below. Monthly tuition is due regardless of student absences, vacations, holidays, or the number of lesson days in a given month.
All students are enrolled in automatic payments. Tuition will be charged automatically on the 1st day of each month using the payment method on file. If the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, payment may be processed on the next business day.
Families are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method. Any fees incurred due to declined payments, insufficient funds, chargebacks, or returned transactions are the responsibility of the student or parent/guardian. Accounts with overdue balances may be subject to late fees and may result in suspension of lessons/classes until the account is brought current.
Current tuition rates and fees are published by Anthem Academy of Music and may be updated periodically with advance notice.
Registration Fee
A $25 annual enrollment fee per student is billed each September for continuing students and upon initial enrollment for new students. This fee helps cover administrative, insurance, music license, and communication costs separate from tuition.
Missed Lessons & Classes
Student Absences: Tuition covers all registered lessons and/or classes, including those missed due to student absences. Please notify us by phone or email if you cannot attend.
Group Classes: Makeup classes are not offered for student absences from group classes.
Makeup Eligibility: Private lesson absences with at least 24 hours’ notice are eligible for a makeup lesson, subject to teacher availability. Absences must be communicated to the academy by phone or email. Notification to an individual teacher does not constitute notice to the academy.
Short Notice Absences: Private lesson absences with less than 24 hours’ notice are not eligible for makeup lessons.
Teacher Cancellations & Substitute Teachers
In case of teacher cancellation, Anthem academy of Music reserves the right to schedule a substitute teacher.
Advance Notice: If a teacher cancels more than 24 hours in advance, we will attempt to schedule a substitute teacher. If a substitute is not available, students may reschedule or attend a makeup lesson.
Short Notice Cancellations: If a teacher cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice and a substitute cannot be arranged, students may choose between a makeup lesson or a tuition credit.
tardy policy
Students who are late for a lesson are not guaranteed their full lesson time. The lesson will not be extended.
general illness policy
Students should not attend lessons if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a highly contagious illness, or symptoms severe enough to prevent meaningful participation. If a student arrives with symptoms that create a health concern for staff or other students, Anthem Academy of Music reserves the right to end or postpone the lesson at the teacher’s discretion.
Property Damage
Parents/guardians or adult students may be held financially responsible for damage to Anthem Academy of Music property caused by intentional misuse or reckless behavior.
Inclement Weather and Emergency Cancellations
Anthem Academy of Music is committed to remaining open whenever possible. As always, use your own judgement in making a final decision regarding severe weather. Your safety and the safety of your children are valuable and not worth risking the cost of a missed lesson.
Academy Closure: Anthem Academy may remain open even if local schools close. Announcements will be posted on our social media and students will be contacted.
Weather-Related Absences: If a student must cancel due to weather, please contact the academy before the lesson to arrange a makeup. Without advance notice, the lesson may be forfeited.
Emergency Closures: Students and parents will be notified immediately and will be eligible for a makeup lesson.
Online Lessons
In the event of technical issues:
Instructor Technical Issues: If technical problems on the instructor’s end prevent a lesson, a makeup lesson will be scheduled at no additional cost.
Student Technical Issues: If technical issues arise on the student’s end, the lesson will not be rescheduled.
Lesson/Class Withdrawal
All withdrawals from Anthem Academy of Music must be submitted in writing by email from the parent/guardian or adult student. Withdrawals will not be accepted by phone call, voicemail, text message, or through the lesson teacher.
A minimum of four (4) weeks' written notice is required for all withdrawals. Tuition remains due during the notice period regardless of lesson attendance. Withdrawal from lessons does not take effect until the four-week notice period has been completed.
Anthem Academy of Music does not offer temporary enrollment pauses or lesson-time holds. Students who wish to discontinue lessons or classes for any period of time will be considered withdrawn from enrollment and are subject to the withdrawal notice requirement.
Students who withdraw and later wish to return are welcome to re-enroll if space is available; however, their previous lesson or class time cannot be guaranteed.
Program Cancellation
Anthem Academy of Music reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment. Students will be offered transfer to another class or a full refund if a class is cancelled.
supervision of minor students
The academy provides instruction and supervision only during scheduled lessons or academy-led activities. It does not provide childcare outside these times. Parents/guardians who leave the premises during a minor's lesson acknowledge that the academy's responsibility is limited to the instructional period and designated areas. Parents remain responsible outside these times.
