Parker Dietz – Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Beginning Piano
Parker Dietz is a guitarist who has taught hundreds of lessons in the Twin Cities area. Taking inspiration from landmark musicians like Jerry Garcia and Django Reinhardt, he is an advocate for cultivating a deep understanding of the rich history and cultural importance of music.
In 2025, Parker graduated with an Associates of Fine Arts in Music from Normandale Community College. Here, he was awarded the Normandale Aaron Hilden Memorial Jazz Scholarship as well as the Normandale Music Department scholarship for his ability to demonstrate strong improvisational skills. Since graduating, Parker has continued to perform around the Twin Cities in many different settings, including folk and country music duos, and through playing big band and small combo jazz.
Parker has studied under classical guitarist Barrett Schultz, blues-rock guitarist Jake Andrews, saxophonist and jazz director Aaron Moe, as well as NASM Executive and music theorist Robert Gronemann. He has extensively studied Texas blues music, outlaw and traditional country, jazz manouche (French jazz guitar), western swing, and jam band styles. A skilled multi-instrumentalist, Parker plays guitar, mandolin, ukulele, lap steel, dobro, bass, piano, and sings.
As an instructor, Parker focuses on an aural learning approach, teaching foundational ear training skills and providing practical music theory knowledge to lead students to find their own unique voice on their instrument.
When he’s not playing or teaching, Parker enjoys perfecting his slow cooker recipes and following Bob Ross tutorials.
